This is Join 4 from my joining sampler.
Step-by-step randa stitch:
Similar to Palestrina, the stitch uses two half hitches to build up a central knot. This stitch shows up on both sides.
1) Stitch up from below into a thread loop, forming a bead on the edge of Side A.
2) Insert needle into the trailing thread of the previous stitch. Wrap around twice with working thread before pulling through. Adjust after pulling through so knotted thread sits in the central area.
3) Repeat step 1, only this time come down and form the thread bead on the edge of Side B.
4) Inserting needle from behind the current knot, perform two half hitches, building up the knot.
