In February and March 2020, I worked on a joining sampler. I wanted to experiment with different methods of joining fabric panels with an end goal of choosing the most appropriate join for my fabric concertina book “Touching Spring.” During this period the coronavirus pandemic hit and I will always associate this project with the calming effect it had on me while stitching.
I kept track of the instructions and thread used for each join, so that I could recreate it if I wanted to. I also generated step-by-step photos of some of the joins so I wouldn’t have to re-view YouTube videos. None of the YouTube sources are in English and they were time-consuming to decipher. When I really liked the join, I created my own tutorials using these step-by-step photos.
Here’s the full list. There are links to my tutorials where available.
