burning bush
Decomposition and recomposition of a photo of a burning bush.
- First layer – extraction of brightly colored leaves. It is an exclusion layer, which usually results in a blue-green, but didn’t in this case.
- Second layer – extraction of brownish branches. Enlarged, stretched and rotated. Blended with luminosity. Opacity 44%.
- Third layer – a plain solid color taupe background.
- Brightness and contrast adjustment because it looked too muddy after I posted it online.
I wanted an abstraction that highlighted the brightly colored leaves, and layered the rest of the detail subtly. Enlarging the branches seemed like the key breakthrough.
