Purely decorative
I took a photo of this twig in the shape of half a heart in the ice on the driveway. I manipulated the photo to try to make it whole. Not completely successful, but I like it. A broken heart.

I went away this past weekend to a knitting event in Freeport, Maine. The excitement and change of routine opened up my wallet. I bought yarn, a book, some gadgets, a summer shirt, a travel mug. On the way home we stopped at the Belfast Food Co-op. Right inside the door, they had these extravagant tulips for sale. This is the time of year I find buying flowers is hard to resist. So they came home with me, and we are enjoying them. The ice is melting today. Sending warming thoughts and floral joy to everyone.

Catherine~ Gosh are those ever beautiful tulips! I like the vase too. A perfect pairing.
I really like that square vase. It’s the only one I have that really fits a grocery-store bouquet.
I couldn’t help but think of the Grinch’s heart popping open and “growing” when I saw your photo
That’s a great comparison! I love watching The Grinch.
Ha. That’s a good one Liz. I couldn’t help but see it as a broken, bleeding heart – especially given the times we are in.
