Mending
Thinking about mending. Trying to make it more than it is. Exploring the symbolic dimensions. These things are beyond me. I just need to do it.
“Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.” An old sentiment my friend likes to hook into rugs.
“Trying to make it more than it is”…this had me smiling. I feel that way sometimes too.
Will watch what directions this mending takes.
I do love mending, especially visible mending … already some pieces made within the past few years are in need of it, a consequence of using reclaimed cloth, which can be overly tender … perhaps that will be a way to get needle in hand again, as I have been away from stitching while tending a sore thumb … anyway, I’ll look forward to seeing what you do here … have fun!
