Anvil Trail
Three trails actually: Anvil Trail to start, then Schoodic Head Trail, finally Alder Trail back to Blueberry Hill parking lot. We got back to the parking lot just before dark, which is coming at 4 pm around here.
Grateful for:
Granite underfoot, such easy walking
Stairs and bog bridges
Blue blazes showing the way
Public lands
That we are physically able to walk these trails (carefully)
The view from the top
Some things are going to change around here. The election has given me clarity about what is important.
Such beautiful views! Easy walking trails become more important as time goes by. I am grateful we can walk around here, even if it looks really different these days. It does not ever become lost to me that we are able to do so.
I will watch this space for the changes you mentioned. ????
Oh yeah, glad to see Sam out and about!!
Yes, he’s busy as ever. I hope he gives his hand a chance to heal.
Someday I’ll have to give up some of the trails, but there are many for a range of capabilities. It’s good to get out. Right now my changes are focused on slow patient decluttering. Long overdue.
Ah yes, decluttering…my BFF ????
What a beautiful view! Your description of granite underfoot reminded me of the trails around here. Our island is a honking hunk of granite too, although the tree roots that grow over it can make trip hazards everywhere. Its great that you are able to be out and about at this time of year.
It is beautiful and I love granite. We have many bare slopes which are so nice to walk on. It takes some focus to enjoy November around here, where most people visit in the summer.
Not sure what that last sentence means … but in the meantime I’m happy to see you enjoying your beautiful surroundings.
It’s hard to put into words what it means! Mostly a mental change of attitude, I think.
