Moth and note on comments
I found this beautiful moth on a flower at the community garden. I used Google to identify it as a Virginia ctenucha moth.
I love every feature of this insect: her dusky wings, iridescent blue body, golden head, and feathery antenna. Her head looks like it’s covered with pollen, but I think it is actually golden orange based on the notes I read online.
I usually try to take a photo quickly when I notice an insect. If it doesn’t fly away, I have another chance to zoom in for a closeup. Those dark wings, serenely folded, really appeal to me.
Nancy alerted me that the comment box was not showing on the last few posts. I investigated and yes, if I start a post from my phone with the WordPress app, it goes up with “Allow comments” blank. I’ll make it one of the settings I check when I post.
Those wings look like paper. Make me think of Deb and her paper making. I bet one could make paper moths ????
I’m sure – I may have seen some on Instagram. I know I’ve seen moths embroidered on a quilt by Pelican Quilts.

and then, pass it along to me
A feeling of kinship, yes. Honored to pass that along.
