Sketch journal August 2023
Probably some leftover watercolor charcoal paint. These lines are really wavey, ocean-like.
I was definitely running out of steam for the drawing project in August. First, a bunch of uninteresting messing around the first half of August. Then there are a whole series of drawings of plants that I did with a brush pen, all in one day (although labeled separate days). I picked out two that I liked.
I can’t wait to see what the monarda punctata (spotted bee balm) does this summer.
I really like this pattern of cucumber leaves. It takes on a shape of its own. Plants in the garden is a great subject.
Next month – collage enters the picture with new energy.
