Days of rain
I transplanted some plants from the property into my circle garden. Then there were four days of rain. Needless to say the transplants are doing well.
And the columbine I bought at the plant sale is blooming beautifully.
Planting the rest of the vegetable garden is on hold until it gets drier. We’ve been spared the smoke from Canada. It’s blowing to the west and south of us.
once upon a time I stopped at the side of a country road in order to dig up a columbine and replant it at our house … it bloomed for years after and I was sad when we had to leave it behind
I have my eyes open for some things I can take from the side of the road. That blue flag iris is blooming exuberantly right in the piled up gravel & sand! I don’t think my spot is wet enough for it, but it’s certainly not wet where it is now.
Somehow just the phrase ‘circle garden’ brings such a peaceful scene/feeling to mind.
Glad you’ve been spared the smoke.
I was going to call it the stump garden, because it came because of a stump that was there. But the stump is gone, and “circle garden” seems to fit much better.
