One step at a time
We are in a winter lull. Life feels very mundane. That’s okay, I like it. It’s a very settled-in feeling.
I made two more woven cloth hearts. I stitched these two together with blanket stitch around the edges. I made this image my electronic Valentine’s Day card.
And I’m making squares in the morning. Components, to be used eventually. These one-inch squares happen to have a green and purple color scheme. With an odd bit of blue in there.
Outdoors, there is a light crust of snow. It gets cold at night and warms to above freezing in the daytime.
There was a big crow in the maple tree yesterday morning. Maple tapping season starts soon.
I’d forgotten how bits of windfall attract sunlight’s warmth, creating a depression in the snow. Here’s some lichen nestled in.
I walked a new trail on Sunday. It was called Blue Horizons Trail on Mount Desert Island. It was easy to see the trail because previous people’s footsteps had worn a path. But at one point the trail petered out. I looked around a bit and finally realized that it proceeded over these six stepping stones. It was fun stepping across them.
Beautiful Hearts ??
Thank you, Nancy. I’m quite pleased with them.
Don’t know why there were question marks there! lol
I think that happened before 🙂 I’m used to it.
your hearts have inspired me to try some patching of half circles to squares … and goodness, I would surely have fallen on those stepping stones!
last, those tiny patches … how they’re sometimes called postage stamps, rightly so … I especially like to alternate black and white little ones, but oh how your colored bits are tempting me to branch out
I have a lot of black and white cut out (somewhere…) but these colors were in the 1″ envelope, so I went with them. Mixing black and white with color is very fun.
busy hands!
Gets me through the winter
