Everything’s slow
Things are slow here. I guess that’s okay. I wanted to make some progress on a few projects today, but I also wanted to have some downtime. I think I need some extra rest. Feeling sluggish and chilly.
I took two bracelets off the loom. The top one is a sampler, just trying out different threads and some pick-and-pick. The middle one is a representation of a river, a freehand weave with variegated indigo thread from Buaisou. I haven’t woven in the ends on the third one, the cherry blossoms. It’s warped in the center of the loom with the threaded rod in back of it, making it hard to access the ends. There’s still some work to do on these but I’ve made a bit of progress.

I do not remember how I made these nine-patches for this sofa cover I’m mending. I must have had a template but it’s gone now. Each side of the whole patch measures 10 inches, so odd. This means each of the nine smaller squares measures 3 and a third inches? somewhere between 3-1/4 and 3-3/8 on a ruler. I couldn’t cope with this measurement today, so I cut some squares using a 3-3/8 inch template. Small progress.

I bought these flavorings at the local health food store. I wasn’t expecting them to have Indian cooking products but they did! Quite strong smelling but should be delicious.

Jude Hill has a great video of her mending a piece of patchwork by appliqueing a loose cut piece of cloth over the worn patch … https://clothwhispering.com/2022/07/17/to-love-cloth/
Thank you for the link! I had a vague memory of Jude doing this but I didn’t think my search skills would be up to finding it.
finding stuff is even hard for me.
love your woven river…
I had fun weaving it.
