Hidden story
I am awake. It’s 3 am. Can’t sleep. Every time I set an alarm because I need to get up early, I wake up absurdly earlier than the alarm. Oh well. We are going to my sister’s place in southern Maine today for a quick visit to transfer some gifts and holiday wishes down to some family in NY and CT, where we are not going this season.
Yesterday I walked on Eastside Road. I visited with some abandoned houses. I love them. This area has a lot of abandoned and neglected houses. They have so much hidden story. Sort of like people. I want to know, but I am okay with looking and loving. I don’t go in, or even venture much closer than the photos show. But I imagine and appreciate.
These gloomy pictures seemed appropriate for the solstice. I know it’s about the return of the light but it is really awfully dark out there and will be for a long while.
At the corner of Eastside and Carter Lane
You could do a whole calendar of these house! They beg to tell us more of their story ????
I find them quite beautiful. Not sure if others would see what I see there….
very beautiful
Maybe I’ll start collecting these photos…
I too find them beautiful. I took some pics of a house in SD that you would like 🙂
I think I don’t feel at home in a place which doesn’t have some abandoned houses.
i have come to see and re see them a few times…i love them. i have so many feelings…want to know their story, want to imagine a story for them, want to sit silently just looking at them, want someone to write songs for them
and now
i love Nancy’s thought….a calendar of them….and/or prints on note cards….o….yes, prints on note cards….. a collection…..YES
could you????
I am thinking about this a lot. I’d have to locate 12 houses. Shouldn’t be that hard 🙂
