Fall-ing
It’s really starting to feel like fall. I’ve been curious this year about what contributes to this feeling of change. It doesn’t happen all at once. But I read the signs, even if it’s subconsciously.
Here’s Sam finishing up the fourth bed in the hoophouse. We took the cover off again. The seedlings need sunlight to get established and the wind and cold are not threats right now. Baby arugula and kale growing in the foreground.
Our driveway. It is really so attractive, especially when the leaves start turning.
Bookmaking with friends. We got together for a bookmaking day on Tuesday. So enjoyable. We made a matched set, all the same design using the same khadi paper as covers. This structure was taught by Margo Klass earlier in the summer, but I couldn’t make it that day. Glad I had another chance. Mine is third from left.
Goldenrod dyeing continues. This time I conscientiously snipped only flower heads (mostly). It’s looking much more yellow than the previous pot.
And there’s Hurricane Ian happening. Whenever there’s a major storm, I experience an overlay of catastrophe even if it’s not happening to me. We are all living within this climate system.
every single one of these pictures holds so much … your hoop house beds are impressive, the driveway reminds me of our Williamsburg home, the attachments on the book covers make me want to make one, and the pot of goldenrod heads is so promising … what a great post!
Sort of throwing everything into my posts lately – my days are full.
OH I am so loving seeing the hoop house pic. Inspired!
Glad you love the hoophouse! So do I. I will show more of it as the cold season progresses.
