Cosmic book
I’m surprised that this book came together. I’ve been resisting bookmaking lately. How it happened: I got together with a few friends two weeks ago to paint papers. I made a black page and a white page. Just playing around with different paints and ways of applying them. I used mostly black and white, and some Golden acrylic “bronze.” The bronze exhibited trace edges of turquoise as it dried.
Both pages seemed destined for a book. The black one was lightweight enough to wrap boards for a cover. And the white one was stiff enough to stand up as single sheets. The instructions in the Handmade Book Club this month were for a lark’s head binding (also known as slip stitch?). A method to bind single sheets, which is what I had. So this project flowed together.
I punched holes today and will start (and hopefully finish) stitching on Friday.
