Modernist smocking
I learned this smocking technique from Annie Coggan, in an online class offered by Tatter Blue Library.
Easy to do and makes quite a dimensional piece of fabric. Drawing the grid on the fabric is the hardest part. I used my yardstick and a black felt pen that laid down a dark line. The material is a leftover from a stained white tablecloth that I cut up for use as a quilt backing.
What a fun texture!
