Haunted by hexies
English paper piecing. Finally. Sort of inevitable in that I’m English and I have a lot of paper lying around. And I like to piece fabrics together.
This project is inspired by a piece Alice Fox posted on her Instagram account. And by the way these botanically dyed cloths just cried out to be next to each other.
I didn’t want to use glue to quick-baste the hexies’ seam allowance. So I found a YouTube demo by the Stitch Sisters that showed a method of basting with thread.
I’m still not sure what I want the final configuration to look like, or where the piece will end up. But it has been a fun experiment and has answered a lot of my questions about how this method works.
