“the persuasion and glory of mid-March”
Great day in New York today.
Took Citibike, did some shopping, went
to hear Bernadette Mayer at Poet’s
House, and sketched. Repeatedly. After 11
tries, a vague resemblance. I learned
to find the geometry of her
face, the triangles of nose and
cheek, the diagonal line of her
glasses, and the vocabulary of her
hair. Only caught a few words.
