Remodeling exposes all the bad vibes,

years of daily wear and tear.
Natural processes: settling, house rides on

waves of moving earth. Wind breathes
through this “shelter,” carrying black residues
that collect inside the walls. Arrogant
to expect that we could intervene —
renew, improve, erase, or cover up.
