catching my breath
Researcher on children learning language –
she reminds us to acknowledge our innate
capacities as child-rearers, just as required
as the innate capacities of children.
I remember catching my breath when
my young children learned new skills –
involuntary intake of delight and awe.
Never felt in any other circumstance.
So much capacity, so much to treasure.
That collaboration, so different now.
