odds and ends
I walked in the neighborhood again today. It is so different from the woods. Lots of cars. Noisy. I can’t drive to a walking destination – my car is in use for holiday and other errands. Also having trouble with my phone recording steps. Pointless, but it has been motivating.

My paper and paints came today. Happy about it. Lots of matte colors and large bottles of black and white. Why be stingy with black and white?

Finished the lebkuchen and chocolate filled poppyseed cookies.
Lebkuchen
1½ c coconut sugar or sucanat
1 c canola oil
1 c molasses
2 eggs
¾ c sour cream
1 c black walnuts
1 c raisins
1 c currants
1 c citron or candied ginger
1 T anise seed
1 t cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and salt
about 4 c whole grain flour
1 heaping t soda
1 t cream of tartar
Mix, chill, roll out, sprinkle with ginger sugar, and bake on greased sheet at 375 until lightly done (about 10 minutes seemed good).
