remix remix

Shoot, I just realized I encountered two “remixes” in one day.

Matthew Remski’s book Threads of Yoga, a remix of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra

AND

Exhibit at Katonah Museum of Art, Remix: Selections from the International Collage Center (link has a slideshow but is not a permalink, argghh)

Very enthusiastic about the Threads of Yoga – primarily the approach at this point rather than the content. I’ve only read the first few pages. I love the mixture of translation (multiple formats!) and commentary and personal expression.

A little overwhelmed by the exhibit. It was gaudy and colorful and represented jillions of hours of effort making large artworks out of tiny collected things. Storing it in memory. I may go back for another visit before the exhibit closes. The Cornell piece had the most lovely background, a sunset the color of sunset.
