kimiko hahn

Reading tonight at the Poet’s House. I missed the first half of the program due to a lackadaisical attitude about getting myself to Battery Park City in the most direct way.

I went to see Diane Ackerman in person, but I was more intrigued by Kimiko Hahn. I bought her book The Narrow Road to the Interior, written in the Japanese prose-poem genre “zuihitsu.” I’ve posted about zuihitsu before, and find it a fascinating and very natural genre.

I’m excited to travel The Narrow Road, and then to proceed to Basho’s travel diary of the same or similar name.
