free ideas
okay, for free and about free –
here’s what I want –
wish list for 2006 blogging if you like –
- ability to date each entry the way I want (with or without the date, with or without the time)
- entries that don’t say “uncategorized” if they are uncategorized (in fact I think I’ll remove the category tag completely)
- archives that come up with the images
- archives that come up with the full text
- tablet that lets me handwrite my entry and post immediately (as a jpg? well okay if you must)
- upload that lets me upload multiple images at a time
- a “previous entries” link that works
- something that understands the need to swap out the header image easily and often
- blogging software that makes no assumptions whatsoever about your social relationships as a human being
- immediate “template builders” that allow you to set up rigorous formal constraints (taking Harry Mathews’s 20 lines a day as the most simple, but moving on from there to sonnet/variations and haibun/variations)
- to take it a step further, allow you to immediately transgress the rigorous formal constraints you establish for yourself
- tabbed blogging environment that let different projects go on simultaneously, swapping out and interfeeding amongst themselves (this might already be possible, but it’s hard to be that fertile/compartmentalized)
- blogging environment that allows you to choose backgrounds that resemble different pieces of paper (lines, unlined, scrap, textured, yellow, graph, postcard, etc.)
- and while we’re at it, allows you to choose different media (text, image, sound, movie, combination) without opening 12 different software programs and then struggling struggling to format the result in some comprehensible way
- special icon-like stamps that you can affix at random to your entries

Bemoaning my lack of interest or ability to
