many things in maine
I saw many things in Maine. Water, lots of it. The surface of water. The texture of the surface under different wind conditions. The color of the surface, blue, black, green, white, or mixtures of.
A snake in the lake.
Rabbit smashed on the road.
A thousand views of Black Mountain. Pink sky and pink peonies.
Shoreline. Watching the shoreline, wondering what I was looking for.
Wildflowers: Queen Anne’s Lace, daisies, vetch, clover, buttercups. Sad stunted vegetable and flower plants. Large tomato plant in container.
Rocks. Boulders and islands of rock. Gravel filling crevices in the driveway.
Skies. Skies full of clouds, skies dropping rain, skies full of stars, tree branches against the sky. Tree trunk gnawed almost through by a beaver.
Boats: canoes, kayaks, small motor boats, and large, very large motor boats.
Dawn and dusk.
Loons in pairs, bobbing, diving, and raising their wings. Dogs. Fish: one sunfish and two salmonids.
Several signs.
Assorted birdhouses.
Great photos! What kind of snake was that swimming around?
Looked like a garden variety garter snake to me I don’t know what he was doing in the lake, besides heading for shore.
