don't write
Here's something: Poetry "Experiments" List

Typical of me: My favorite is "#38, [Removed for further study]." Now that is fascinating.

Fierce "don't write" attacks today. I don't care. The purpose is to train yourself to withstand them.

I fight back with ten ideas:

A poem about a small hard thing like a nut or a gem (I know I know, but Emily started it)

Wrapping the house in linen

The "violet" ravine

Violence (rage) expressed in a poem in a controlled way (important to choose a metaphor that could stand for it)

The poetry of confinement -- distorted imagery multiplying out of control (the Mir, the Kursk -- I probably couldn't stand to write this)

Describing strange old women doing strange things -- but not inside their heads (this would be very hard to do purely)

Why I want to have a party

Something taking off on architecture. A poem based on Frank Lloyd Wright.

Ten people are lined up, each slightly taller than the last. I suppose this is about dance. Or elementary school.

A poem where Sleep is a jealous, powerful, and demanding character.

And one more -- I almost forgot this image that keeps coming back. (I am trying to "listen.") It's an egg made from a shell of wax paper. The wax paper is more shiny and glittery than usual, almost more fragile and transparent, but also texturey and rough in places.
