commitment status

I am flagging in my commitment. I'm close to the end though. Only 3 of 12 remain. I felt like I jumped into a world where commitment was dismissable, like a vapor. I question it. I pouf it, pour it, blow it, breathe it, smoke it. All in all, it's unsolid. What is it?

Some of the sites are very intimidating. Others very uninteresting.

I have learned some general guidelines that I will make note of here.

Site must be dated, must have a sense of current activity.
Collaboration is great.
I like the sense of an issue, a periodic product.
Site must integrate web technology, not just be a print publication placed online.
I like to learn, but I'm turned off by scholarly administrivia.
A sense of humor is very very important to me.
I want to be delighted by an intelligence, by an oddness.
I resist the completely nonsensical for nonsense-sake. Has to be a hook to what I know of as reality. Move from there.

As far as this site goes, I feel satisfied thinking about categorization. And how categories arise from the material organically, and are not set up ahead of time. "Reviews" is a category I would like to add, now that I have some.

Meanwhile, I'm embarking on some CMS efforts, and, do not doubt it, dreaming of a collaborative poetry portal.

AND OH YES - it's election day!

Synesthesia, metaphors in motion

Entertaining for a brief time

but slight

My eye wants a DATE

wants a fix in time

what's going on?

and more than a familiar name

a louder voice

a wilder group

a not-so-pretty-neat.

Postmodern Culture, the leading electronic journal of interdisciplinary thought on contemporary cultures

Scholarly no longer does much for me.

I might go to an article here if I was referred from elsewhere, but wouldn't go here regularly.
